Rigid, commonly flat signs, can be used for both indoor and outdoor applications and are available in a wide variety of materials that may be selected based on exposure to the elements (sun, wind, rain and other weather), expected lifetime of the sign (long-term vs seasonal), the desired look of the sign, indoor or outdoor usage, and of course, budget. Rigid signs are available in aluminum, Dibond, gatorboard, acrylic, or Sintra.
Dibond is created by permanently bonding two sheets of aluminum onto a solid plastic core. This adds thickness and strength to the sign without adding a lot of weight.
An aluminum panface sign, also known as pan panel, is a sign fabricated out of flat aluminum with a border that is 90-degree angle on all four sides of aluminum. Panface signs can be rectangular, oval, circular or manufactured in most custom shapes. The mounting hardware is hidden behind these signs – which are popular above business entrances.
Acrylic is a specific type of very hard plastic that mimics glass and can be made in clear, translucent (frosted), or in a solid-colored form. The standard glossy surface lends an extra touch of elegance and professionalism to any design.
Gatorboard is an extruded polystyrene foam encased between layers of a melamine and wood fiber veneer. It is a lightweight sign material more suitable to indoor applications.
Custom rigid signs can be printed directly on Sintra PVC plastic. Either single or double-sided, these signs can be rectangular, or contour cut to most any custom shape. Sintra board is weatherproof and not affected by the sun’s heat.
