Signco doesn’t just create and install vehicle wraps for brands and businesses. The team often works with people who want wraps for their personal vehicles as well. Sometimes, the customer wants to give their ride a vibrant new look, while others want to tell a meaningful story through their wrap. This recent Signco project did just that.

Bob K., a veteran and retired truck driver, was inspired to wrap his pickup after admiring the unique designs on the semi-trucks he saw on the road. Bob, who enlisted in the Army in 1976, wanted his vehicle wrap to pay tribute to fellow veterans, as well as POWs, first responders, and even their canine counterparts.

Bob had a general idea of what he wanted his truck to look like, and he approached two different Kansas City wrap companies for quotes. However, after calling and leaving messages, he never received a response from either company. Discouraged, Bob decided to try one more wrap company to see if they would be willing to take on his vehicle wrap project. A Google search led him to Signco. He gave them a call, which was answered immediately—by a real, live person! The Signco team told him that his wrap project would not be a problem.

Bob worked closely with the Signco team over the following months to get every detail of his vehicle wrap just right. It was important to him that every branch of the military be represented, and he also wanted to feature several quotes. One of the messages that resonated most deeply with Bob was, ‘All gave some. Some gave all.’ It powerfully highlights the immense sacrifices veterans make in service to their country. Signco’s designers helped create intricate emblems for each military branch, placing them along each side of the truck’s body. Bob asked for a background that featured the American flag alongside three crosses, and the team skillfully combined these elements with vibrant colors and distinctive silhouettes for a striking overall design.

For the last elements, the Signco team suggested that the back of the truck feature a design combining the Constitution and an American eagle, and Bob suggested including emblems for first responders, including a special one for police dogs. With Bob’s vision and Signco’s expertise, the design came to life, honoring both military and civilian first responders alike.

A few months after the initial wrap was completed, Bob brought his truck back to Signco to add something to represent POWs. He wanted to make sure that the men and women left behind were represented as well, and had the team add two more decals on the back window. They show the POW MIA flag, and read “All gave some. Some still give.”

“It’s important that we never forget about our POWs who were left behind and the families who are here waiting for them.”

POW emblem added later by Signco.

Since completing his truck wrap, Bob has traveled to numerous veteran events across the country and participated in many local car shows. His eye-catching wrap has sparked many conversations with other veterans who are touched by the tribute he and the Signco team created. One such meeting happened in Minnesota when Bob met another veteran who was building a three-quarter-size WWII P-51 plane. The vet had spotted the Navy emblem designed by Signco on Bob’s truck and asked him about getting a version of it to put on the side of his aircraft. Bob shared Signco’s number, and within minutes the fellow was on the phone with the team, planning to have the decal re-created for his WWII plane!

Meeting and talking with other veterans during his travels has made Bob realize just how big an impact a vehicle wrap can make. The vibrant design honors the service of others and delivers a powerful message of awareness about veterans’ issues, bringing people together and promoting a sense of pride among those who have served.

“I would highly recommend Signco to anyone looking for a vehicle wrap,” Bob says. “They didn’t hesitate to take on my project, whereas the other companies I called did not even get back to me. Their team was just as passionate about this project as me and helped bring together this awesome wrap. It looks just as good today as it did when I picked it up!”
