Signco has worked with the Kansas City Streetcar Authority (KCSA) since 2018. The partnership began when the KCSA began a new initiative with Art in the Loop in which the streetcars and streetcar stop enclosures were wrapped with local artists’ work. Signco has completed hundreds of wraps for the streetcars and streetcar stops over the past seven years, ranging from unique artistic displays to advertisements for local businesses.
With each streetcar measuring 77 feet long, wrapping one is not only a massive undertaking, but an expensive investment for the city. Each requires special care when any work is done on the cars, and Signco’s professionalism, high-quality work, reliable wrap materials, and attention to detail set them apart. In fact, competitors had previously wrapped streetcars before the KCSA quickly selected Signco as their official wrap installation crew.
KC Streetcar Expansion
There’s a lot of buzz around Kansas City as the streetcar’s newest line extension nears completion. The Main Street Extension, which will now take the streetcars from the River Market to UMKC, has been in the works for several years and the KCSA is currently in the final testing phase.
To accommodate the increased traffic on the now longer route, the KCSA has added several new streetcars, bringing the total to 14. Signco has been there the whole way, assisting with the installation of key safety and informational decals throughout each new streetcar.
Additionally, Signco has worked with the KCSA to add some new signage to their office spaces and maintenance facility. These large-scale wall wraps, dimensional logo signs, and banners showcase the KCSA’s unique brand, giving these spaces a vibrant and modern aesthetic that enhances the overall atmosphere!
